Comment on Political Correctness is a Lie by David

"In the same way that 90% of everybody can identify obscenity when they see it, so 90% of everybody can identify political correctness when they see it."

Minor quibble: Unfortunately, this analogy is flawed, as many people conflate the obscene with the vulgar or profane. The use--and abuse--of English (not on your blog :-)) in our increasingly aliterate society is a frightening wonder to behold... *sigh*

Of course, if an analogy were not flawed, it wouldn't be analogous, would it?

I generally use a slightly different definition of "political correctness" as I contemplate the phenomenon: lies used to oppress the speech of anyone who disagrees with the purveyor of "politically correct" speech. My response to anyone seeking to impose their own "politically correct" speech code on me is to simply call them out on their lies. Every time I have the opportunity. Loudly, if necessary. Those who wish to shout me down had better have as many years training and experience, and as much native talent, in vocal production as I have, because I can almost always outshout those who wish to shout me down, if they are in a group of 20 or fewer.

I hate these rat b______s. (Hmmm, maybe "hate" is too mild a term.) Liars, slanderers, useless and toxic oxygen sinks.

But that's just me, I'm sure.

Who represents the taxpayer at the negotiating table between the unions and politicians? Nobody. The union wants more money and less work. The politician wants union kickbacks of dues for his campaign chest. Nobody in the negotiation has a reason to oppose increased spending. That's why your claims are false. Wisconsin's public sector incomes are higher than its private sector income. That means that lower income taxpayers are paying for higher income tax parasites. How is that fair to poor people, ecolibrarian?
